FISM joins EMC
We continue to be amazed at the amount of help we have received for the Essential Magic Conference. It seems that our aim to learn, share and collaborate resonates with many in the magic world. Today we had the additional pleasure of receiving confirmation from Eric Eswin, International President of FISM, organisers of the World Championship of Magic, will join the EMC.
EMC and FISM share common goals
The Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques (FISM) is the sole organiser of the FISM World Championships of Magic (WCM). These are internationally recognised by all major magic societies. The first WCM was in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1948. Since that time FISM has been organising World Championships of Magic on a grand scale every year and since 1952 every three years. The latest WCM took place in 2009 in Beijing, China. The 25th WCM will be held in July 2012 in Blackpool, England.
The Federation consists of 82 magic clubs, both national and international, representing over 50,000 magicians from more than 50 countries. The aim is to ‘develop, elevate and promote the art of magic’ sentiments that echo our own goals in setting up the EMC.
FISM winners at EMC
FISM’s reputation for organising gargantuan conferences that showcase the best in magic is unrivalled. The list of FISM competition winners reads like a who’s who in magic: Fred Kaps, Hans Moretti, Pierre Brahma, Richard Ross, Tommy Wonder, John Ramsay, Arturo de Ascanio, Lance Burton, Norbert Ferré and many more.
Incredibly, when we look at our list of Speakers at the EMC we find that we have many FISM award winners among them: Cyril Takayama, Lennart Green, Helder Guimarães, Richard MacDougall, Gaetan Bloom and Topas. They will be joined at the conference by Eric Eswin, International President of FISM. We hope you can join us for the world’s first digital conference on magic.
Thank you FISM
We are honoured that FISM is joining the EMC. And special thanks goes to FISM President Eric Eswin and Vice Presidents Gerrit Brengman and Domenico Dante. We will try to maintain the high standards you have set.
